Welcome to the St. Paul's with St. Mary's ACNY page. The two churches work together for the whole community under the same ministry team.Whoever you are, wherever you are from, whatever your background you are welcome.
Our church is very friendly and truly multi-generational. There is always something happening for children on a Sunday but it varies throughout the month, as planned by the leaders of what we call Sunday Club. In practice what that looks like is 1st Sunday of the month the children start in our adjoining hall and then come and join the rest of the congregation in time for communion. On the 2nd Sunday of the month we're all in together for a non-communion interactive all age service. 3rd Sunday sees the children in church gathered around a table where they do art activities, and the fourth Sunday they start in church with us before they go out to their group and we get into a more discussion based approach to the sermon before going over to join them in the hall.
Sunday worship music is usually led by a band but we do also have organists for when we want something a little more traditional, and are looking at developing other more contemplative services. We also run Forest Church, which is always outside and is quiet and reflective, so we're trying to take a very inclusive look at how we gather together in order to make sure a wide range of people's needs are met. As you can see from above, children and families are a priority for us.
The parish of Wooburn is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
