How it Works
The scheme enables you to:
- Donate monthly, quarterly or annually by Direct Debit
- To sign up to inflation linked giving annually
- To enhance your gift to the parish by having Gift Aid at 25% added to your giving
- To give anonymously if you prefer
- To do so securely
At present, there are two ways in which you can set up a Direct Debit to donate regularly to your church or parish:
- via paper direct debit form – available from your PGS parish representative
- via our new telephone service
If you wish to sign up via our telephone service, please call our dedicated telephone number:
0333 002 1271
Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9 – 5pm.
You will need to have your bank account details, church/parish name and PGS parish code to hand (available from the PGS representative for your parish).
Even though the donations are made to the PGS, donations are restricted to the parish chosen by the donor and cannot be used elsewhere. The donation will be passed back to the parish of the donor's choosing by 10th of the month. Gift Aid will be sent separately once PGS has received it from HMRC.
The unique feature of the scheme is the option for the donor to commit in principle to increase their gift annually in line with inflation. Whilst this is a voluntary decision, it is one that could potentially have a huge impact on the life and future of the church.
If you currently donate by this method and wish to review your giving or have another enquiry please contact the PGS team either by emailing or calling 0333 002 1260.
