St. Margaret's is a challenging Christian community: dynamic, creative, inclusive of a wide variety of viewpoints.  We are a people of global concern, striving through education to develop alternatives to conflict and injustice.  To do this, we build local networks that make a difference.

We value religious and cultural diversity, working with other faith communities as equal partners.  We seek to be touched by the Divine through the transforming power of worship, experiencing how ordinary things are extra - ordinary.  St. Margaret's takes as its role model the values of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels: compassion, encouragement, forgiveness.  Contemporary role models are also a source of guidance.

We are both a place and a people: raising awareness, leading to personal empowerment, or in traditional language, spiritual well being.

St Margaret's is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.  We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.  The Diocese of Manchester's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.  If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA.  If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
