Welcome! St James' is your Church of England church in the heart of Benwell. St James was built in 1833 and has been serving the West-end of Newcastle ever since. We believe that Jesus calls us to keep two commandments - to love God and to love our neighbour as ourselves. We hope that this love informs everything we do.

Something Wonderful is a project based at St James Church Benwell that aims to strengthen the local community, whatever their background or belief. We have named it 'Something Wonderful' as we want to do just that - continue to be a place run by and for the community where you can encounter/eat/learn/create/do/be something wonderful.
