In the heart of town is the lovely Minster building which is home to the real church - the worshipping people and community of Axminster.It is the base for a people who worship our wonderful God, and meet for prayer, study, music, fellowship and social activities, and a place for individuals to come for quiet, reflection and personal time with God.
The church has Norman origins, although much of the building dates from the 13th-15th centuries. St Mary's is Axminster's parish church and the oldest building in the town. St Mary's has been Grade II* Listed since 1950
