Congregational giving provides vital income to support the ministry and mission of St Helen’s Wheathampstead and St Peter’s in Gustard Wood. Your giving is essential to maintain the day to day running of the Church, keeping our buildings well maintained and enabling our ministry to young and old alike.

Signing up to regular giving through the Parish Giving Scheme is an expression of our thanksgiving to God, who we acknowledge to be the source of all our blessings. Thank you to all those who support our ministry and mission in this way.

There has been a Christian church in Wheathampstead for around a thousand years and the current St Helen’s Church has stood as a witness of our faith since the thirteenth century. Today our vision is that St Helen’s and St Peter’s will be a church for all generations, with buildings that are vibrant hubs at the heart of our communities and provide opportunities for all to encounter God’s love.

St Helen's Church is the Parish Church of Wheathampstead and has a sister-Church, St Peters, at Gustard Wood. All are welcome to visit and to join us in Sunday worship and social activities. We provide a variety of services to suit different tastes and for everyone to grow to be part of the Christian family. Please have a look at the services page or our website http://www.sth-stp.org for details. We hope you find that what we offer suits you and your family.

There is always something happening in St Helen's Church - the Community Coffee Shop is open in the chancel Monday, Tuesday (term time) and on Saturday mornings (all year), and a busy parents-and-tots group runs on Wednesday mornings. Bell ringers and a youth- and adult- choir practice in church in the evenings. Off site, we hold study and fellowship groups. Visit us to find out more!

Our churches are also important to the wider neighbourhood. The churchyard at St Helen's is still open for burials. Remembrance Sunday and other seasonal services are important civic occasions in the village.

Our Ministerial Team consists of The Revd. Richard Banham (Rector) and 2 Readers. We are also fortunate to have retired clergy in the village who play an active role in our church life.
