The Parish of Urchfont:  Urchfont is a beautiful North Wiltshire village, four miles south-east of Devizes and well-known for its picturesque duck pond and its annual Scarecrow Festival. It won the CPRE Wiltshire Best Kept Village 'Winner of Winners' Competition in 2024.  The Parish is situated in the Vale of Pewsey, an area of outstanding natural beauty mainly given to open farmland and unspoilt chalk downland and rich in wildlife, history and archaeology

Our parish includes the small hamlets of Wedhampton and Lydeway and is also linked to the nearby village of Stert (which has its own church and PCC).  Salisbury Plain and its military training are just to the south. 

Among its many facilities Urchfont has its own primary school, a Community Shop alongside a pub (The Lamb) and a well-frequented Village Hall, which is close to the church.  

The Church and its Services:   St Michael and All Angels Church dates from the 13th and early 14th centuries and is a Grade 1 listed building. It is included in Simon Jenkins' book 'England's Thousand Best Churches' and is particularly known for the impressive rib-vaulted ceiling in the chancel.

Services are held in the Church every Sunday, usually at 11.00am (including Holy Communion services on the first and third Sundays of the month).
