We are a welcoming church in the heart of the market town of Thame.
As we emerge from the many changes of the past few years, St Mary’s is working with Barley Hill Church in Thame and St Catherine’s Church in Towersey to develop a common vision for Thame and Towersey.
Our aim is to reaching out to see lives changed through the love of God and living out what we believe.
We are committed to the renewal of:
• our life in Christ: through prayer, worship, and study of scripture.
• our spiritual intimacy with God: overflowing with the love of Christ, and able to give reasons for the hope that is in us, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
• our community: living in companionship with those not connected to the Church.
• our world: supporting those working for justice and fairness in society, especially the poor and marginalised.
• the earth: to take seriously what it means to be stewards of the environment and to be at the heart of local projects to address climate change and biodiversity loss.
Voluntary giving is the largest single component of our church’s regular income – and committed giving accounted for over half our income last year. It is used to cover the cost of clergy remuneration and housing, other church running costs, plus grants to Christian ministry outside the parish. So every gift, however large or small, contributes towards the mission of the church in our community.

Regular giving is an enormous help as we plan our finances. It is particularly valuable if you would be willing to increase your gift annually by the cost of living, which prevents your regular gift from being eroded over time.
