Welcome to Portchester St Mary
This Parish is registered with the Parish Giving Scheme and as such a regular Direct Debit can be set up online. Please click 'Give Now' to set up a donation to this Parish.
Alongside our in person services, we will be recording a service each week that will be uploaded to this page and also our YouTube Channel every Monday.
Our Parish Eucharist and Later Morning Service have been combined to one service held at 10:30am each Sunday. The service will alternate each week between the Parish Eucharist and Service of the Word. Each week the service will be recorded and then posted to our YouTube Channel on Monday. On the Services and Events tab you will be able to find other services we are still holding and information on our Youth Group CONNECT
A Church of England Parish Church, part of the Anglican Diocese of Portsmouth. We attempt to balance traditional with contemporary worship. We would be described as ‘middle of the road’, but rather than something a bit bland, we combine evangelical, charismatic and catholic elements in worship and spirituality (which we think makes us quite unique around here!).
We are intentional about outreach and encouraging people to become disciples of Jesus. The Alpha Course is our main Christian basics course.
We are a congregation of about 350 adults and around 20 children (not all attend at once, or even the same service!)
“We are pilgrims on a journey, fellow travellers on the road; we are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load.”
The parish of Portchester: St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Portsmouth’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
